Pairing: Fernando Torres/Another Liverpool teammate-a surprise? Implied Fernando Torres/Xabi Alonso; Daniel Agger/Steve Finnan
Disclaimer: Complete and total fiction.
Summary: Dan thinks he knows everything.
Author's Notes: Unbeta'd... sorry! I wanted to get this up before work. Also my first time writing any Liverpool players other than Fernando, so feedback on how to improve is appreciated! I know that many players have accents, but if I tried to write in the accents, it would just ruin it because I've never written accents before! Yes. Enjoy the fic!

-King Dan Knows All-

Daniel Agger sat at the edge of the field; legs sprawled out in front of him, as he leaned back on his hands, a lazy look on his face. He was taking a break from training, as everyone needed a break, and was taking the time to observe the rest of his teammates. His eyes roamed across the field, as he watched Steven Gerrard and Peter Crouch performing cross and header drills. He’d always thought Peter resembled a chicken. Yes, those kind of random thoughts were the type that ensued in King Dan’s head. It was rare for a normal thought to ever occur, but what would be the fun in that.

He continued to scan the field and this time stopped on Xabi Alonso, and the new guy, Fernando Torres. The two were laughing and helping each other with stretching drills. His eyebrows rose slightly, as he saw Fernando lean in to whisper something to Xabi, and what was even more interesting was that Xabi began to blush as red as a tomato.

Dan vaguely noticed as Steve Finnan sat beside him, as he was too busy watching the scene before him.

“They are so fucking each other.” Dan blurted out.

“Well hello to you too. Now who are we talking about today? Pepe and Peter? Harry and Jermaine? John and Dirk?”

“Fernando and Xabi.”

“Ahhh.” Steve looked down the field at the two men. They both seemed extremely comfortable with each other. “Aren’t they national team mates? I’m sure they’re just friends.”

“Pfft, I don’t think so. Every time after practice, I see Fernando hang back in the locker room until the majority of the mates have left.” Daniel said suspiciously. “You know that Xabi likes to take long showers. I’m sure him and Fernando eventually take them together.”

Steve shook his head. Dan was always full of ideas, rumours and gossip.

“Perhaps they are both big on the environment and feel it would be better to take showers together in order to conserve water.” Steve suggested, pulling at the blades of grass beneath him.

Daniel just gave him a disbelieving look, and Steve turned away.

“Just a suggestion.”

Daniel returned his attention to Xabi and Fernando and smirked. He was definitely going to find out what was going on between those two men.

Daniel whistled innocently as he slipped his shirt over his head. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see Fernando slowly removing his training kit.

“Eh, Fernando, you coming to the club tonight right?” He asked the slightly older man, accompanying the question were hand gestures, so Dan could be sure that Spaniard understood him.

A grin broke out on Fernando’s face and he nodded.

“Alright, see you then.”

Daniel made his way out of the locker room, but he didn’t leave completely, silently crouching near the door. There weren’t many people left in the locker room, and Daniel was going to be sure to catch the two Spaniards together. Then he would gloat to Steve, who always thought that he gossiped and spread rumours so much, that he could out-gossip and out-rumour a girl.

He felt something buzz in his pocket, and reached in to grab his cell phone. Looking at the screen, he saw that Steve had just sent him a text message.

Where are you? Want to drive to the club together?

Dan smiled, and began punching buttons, sending Steve an answer.

“What are ye doin’?”

“HOLY MOTHER OF SWEET JESUS!” Dan fell back onto his ass, clutching his cell phone tight in one hand, and bracing himself with the other. He slowly looked up at his captain, Steven, who was staring down at him, looking much more menacing than usual in Dan’s opinion.

“Ye haven’t answered the question.”

“Oh well, my cell phone dropped out of my pocket, and when I reached down to get it, someone had sent a message so then I was replying and...yeah. Is Fernando still in the locker room?”

Steven’s eyebrows shot up at the sudden direction change in the conversation.

“No, he just left.” A suspicious look once again occupying the captain’s face.

“What!? Was Xabi with him?” Dan asked surprised. He couldn’t believe that he had hung back to catch the two men, and hadn’t even managed to do so.

“Are ye feelin’ okay Dan? Maybe ye shouldn’t come to the club tonight. You’re actin’ a bit...odd.”

“No, no I’m fine. I’ll be there. Well, see ya Stevie!”

Dan shot off towards his car, eager to get away from the hard looks of his captain, leaving the latter shaking his head.

The loud music pulsed through the club, as sweaty bodies danced and grinded against each other in an alcohol induced haze. Some of the boys were dancing their asses off in the middle of the crowd, while others were up in the V.I.P lounge, or down at the bar. Dan was one of the few sitting at the bar, with Fernando and Steve on either side of him.

“Here Torres, have another drink. Remember, if you need anything, just find Xabi!” Dan passed Fernando another beer with a not-so-believable innocent look on his face. Fernando gave Dan an odd look, yet thanked him and took a sip.

“So, what’s your plan?” Steve asked. He had been watching Dan force drinks on Fernando all day, and he knew that if Dan was willing to pay for all those beers, then he was doing it for a reason that would benefit himself.

“Well, here’s my theory. If I can get Torres drunk enough, I think he’ll just go right up to Xabi, pull him to the dance floor, and they’ll do it right there.” Dan replied, proud of the brilliant and fool-proof plan he had concocted.

“Mmhmm, and what if Fernando has a very high alcohol tolerance?” Steve asked.

“Pfft, look at him. Do you think that scrawny body can hold his liquor?”

Steve shrugged and took a sip of his own drink. The three men sat at the bar, continuing to watch the crowd dance to the music. After a couple of minutes, Fernando stood up. He looked towards Dan and Steve, and seemed to be forming the words he wanted to say in his head.

“Umm, back soon?”

Steve and Dan nodded to indicate they understood, and Fernando left the two of them at the bar.

“You know what? I think he knows more English than he lets on.” Dan suggested. “Come on.” He got up and started in the direction that Fernando had just headed towards.

“And what are we doing?” Steve sighed, although he had a good idea what Dan was thinking.

“We’re going to follow him of course. He is totally going to meet up with Xabi for a little screw session.”

Steve rolled his eyes, but followed Dan anyway. They managed to get through the dance floor just in time to see Fernando enter a back room. Dan stopped before the door.

“I think we should wait a bit and let them get started, that way we can at least catch them doing something entertaining.” Dan told Steve, a large grin on his face.

“You are so evil.”

“Oh I know.” Dan once again felt proud. Sure the last time he felt proud about what he'd done his plan had totally failed and he almost melted under the super glare of super captain super Steven Gerrard, but this time he knew he would be successful.

“Why are you so obsessed with catching the two of them?” Steve asked curiously.

“I am not obsessed! I’m just trying to prove that I’m always right, and that my gossip and rumours are not unfounded. That’s it! See, no obsession, now come on lets get those two suckers.”

Dan placed his hand on the doorknob and opened the door.

“Bwahaha, caught you suckers!”

Dan laughed as he saw Fernando and –Steven?! Fernando and Steven, topless and sweaty, chests pressed against each other, and the button and zipper of Steven’s pants undone. The three men stared at each other for a few seconds. Fernando looked scared and nervous, while Dan’s mouth was hanging open, a mix of awe at the fact that it was Steven and fear at the glare Steven was giving him, which totally said ‘youjustwaituntiligetmyhandsonyouyoulittlepunk.’

“Okay, well. I’m going to get back to the bar. You too have fun!” Dan slammed the door behind him and was met with the questioning look on Steve’s face.

“Well?”

“Yup, Xabi and Fernando! What’d I tell you? And you never believed me ha-ha. Oh man, let’s go dance!” He grabbed onto Steve’s hand and tried to drag him away from the door.

“But...but-“ Steve sighed and gave in, allowing the younger man to pull him away.

Daniel was going to have lots and lots of drinks. He didn’t think they’d serve alcohol at the hospital, which is where he was going to be after Steven Gerrard was done with him.

Well at least I was half right. It was Fernando who was screwing someone ½ isn’t that bad.

Dan sighed as he picked up a shot and downed it, letting the liquid slide down his throat and into his-for now- in tact body.

Summary: One last goodbye...
Author's Notes: Unbeta'd... sorry! I love commas. They are my best friend. So there may be comma splices. I also tend to switch tenses a lot (oops) so pointing that out would be helpful. Hopefully it's not too bad. Also the first thing I've written in a while, so constructive criticism is both appreciated and encouraged. Italics are Sergio's thoughts.

-farewell-

The phone rings, but Sergio doesn’t make a move to answer it. He knows who it is. A half hour later, it’s the doorbell that rings, but once again, Sergio makes no effort. He hears the click of the lock turning and sighs. He should have remembered that the man had a key. Maybe there would have been time to have the damn locks changed.

He continues flipping through the channels on the TV and can see the tall, skinny figure out of the corner of his eye, standing there, watching him. Sergio doesn’t acknowledge Fernando, and Fernando says nothing as he sits in the chair next to the couch. Despite the sounds radiating from the television, the room feels silent, and Sergio can hear every move the other man makes and every breath he takes. He can hear him sigh, and can even hear the fidgeting of his hands. Yet, Sergio keeps his eyes trained on the television and mentally praises himself for not showing any emotion. From the moment he heard the news, he hadn’t shed a single tear. It felt surreal, like it is all just a dream.

“I’m sorry.”

Sergio mentally sneers at that statement.

Sorry, you bastard. You always spoke to me of how you were unhappy with the path Atletico was going down, that you were tired of losing, and wanted to experience the high of winning. Well now you have your chance and you’ve taken it, without thinking of all the others who matter to you. You’ve become caught up in that hunger for victory, but it comes at a price. You’re going to lose a lot more than what you will gain.

Sergio wants to scream in Fernando’s face, he wants to throw things, hit things. A war is raging in his mind. Yet when in the other man’s presence, he remains calm, still flipping through the channels.

“I know you’re mad at me.”

No duh, moron.

Sergio wants to continue calling Fernando names. To tell Fernando that he meant nothing to him and their relationship was just a way for Sergio to get his own aggression out. He wants to rip out Fernando’s heart, stomp on it multiple times, throw it against the wall, boil it on a stove, and then flush it down the toilet. After that, he’d go down into the sewers, find the heart and do it all over again.

“Sergio, say something.”

What do you want me to say? That it’s alright that you’re leaving me. That it’s okay that the only time I’ll see you is when we’re with the national team? That I’m fine with you stabbing me in the back and leaving me here in Madrid, alone? I won’t give you that relief.

Sergio remains silent.

He can hear shuffling as Fernando gets up from the chair, and next thing, Fernando is straddling him on the couch. He lifts Sergio’s chin, forcing the younger man to look into his brown eyes. Brown eyes Sergio won’t see again for a long time. Fernando touches Sergio’s hands, and absently traces patterns on them before beginning to speak.

“If you won’t talk then I will. You know what it’s like to feel a part of a win. I don’t. All I know is losing. I care about you, I really do...”

Liar.

“...and I’ll phone as often as I can...”

Liar times two.

“...but this is something that I have to do.”

The look on Fernando’s face is enough to bring anyone to tears. His eyes were full of emotion, different emotions. There is both joy and heartbreak. Joy to be going to a team committed to winning, but heartbreak for those he is leaving behind.

Sergio just stares dully back at Fernando, showing no indication that he had heard a word the other man had said. He remains completely void of any feeling. Sergio knows that if he lets down the emotional barrier set up, he would break down into tears. He doesn’t want Fernando to know how much his decision hurt him. That would make him weak, and Sergio Ramos is not weak. Fernando sighs and let go of Sergio’s hands.

“Farewell.”

He clutches the back of Sergio’s neck as he hesitantly leans in. His lips barely graze Sergio’s, yet the kiss soft and gentle, a passing breeze. Fernando stays hovered as Sergio inhales his smell, the smell of his cologne, a smell that would soon disappear. As Fernando pulls back, he whispers.

“I’ll miss you.”

Then he is gone.

Sergio can hear the TV once again.

“Liverpool has confirmed the signing of striker Fernando Torres at a fee of-“

He jolts up from the couch and rips the cord out of the outlet. The screen goes black.

Just like your heart, Torres.

He sits back down, in complete silence, and remembers. He remembers their last kiss, Fernando’s last words still ringing in his head.

I’ll miss you too.

Days later, Sergio finds himself out at the grocery market. He walks aimlessly around the store, the pain of Fernando’s last visit still stinging. As he turns down another aisle, he spots Olalla, bent over her own basket. She looks up and catches his gaze. She knows how close he is to Fernando, and before he can stop himself, Sergio is in her arms and she in his. Two of the most important people in Fernando’s life, both affected by the move, and both left behind. He tightens his grip around the shorter woman, the pain coming back full force now that he has found someone to share it with. He struggles to breathe, as if his lungs are being crushed by an invisible pressure. He can feel Olalla’s shoulders shake beneath his arms. He knows she is crying, and it’s then that Sergio realizes he is too.

They stand together in the middle of the aisle, and they cry.
